I am extremely delighted and honored to serve as the Principal of this esteemed institution. At Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, we are committed to providing a holistic education that goes beyond academic excellence and aims at the overall development of every individual.

Dr. S. Poongothai, Dean – Research & WWLC at Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College (Autonomous), Chennai, has over 35 years of academic and research experience in Civil Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. from Anna University (under QIP) and M.E. degrees in Structures and Water Resources Engineering & Management from Annamalai University.

Her research contributions include more than 45 international and 8 national journal publications, 33 conference papers, and the completion of a UGC-funded project on groundwater quality modeling in tsunami-affected regions. She has guided 10 Ph.D. scholars and 13 PG theses, and her research focuses on Water Resources Engineering, Watershed Management, Water Quality Modeling, and Remote Sensing & GIS.

A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and a member of the International Water Association, she has served as President of the University Women’s Association, Chidambaram (IFUWA Chapter), and as Chairperson of the Committee against Sexual Harassment at Annamalai University. She has delivered more than 25 invited lectures and continues to contribute actively to research, mentorship, and academic leadership.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College plays a pivotal role in driving continuous quality enhancement, academic excellence, and institutional innovation across all engineering and humanities disciplines.

Dr. V. J. Arulkarthick serves as the Dean - IQAC and Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. With extensive expertise in higher education quality frameworks, accreditation standards, and research initiatives, he guides the cell's strategic endeavors to sustain high academic standards.

The IQAC focuses on establishing learner-centric educational environments, encouraging faculty development, streamlining evaluation systems, and implementing best practices for holistic growth and national accreditation readiness.

Dr. Sheeba Joice C

Dean-Academics & Professor

DEAN - ACADEMICS

Dr. Sheeba Joice C is a distinguished academician and researcher with 28 years of teaching and research experience. She completed her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Madras in 1998 and her postgraduate degree in Applied Electronics from Anna University, Chennai, in 2007. She obtained her Ph.D. from Anna University in 2012 for her research on Embedded Control of Drives.

She is an Anna University Research Supervisor and has guided six research scholars, of whom two have successfully completed their research under her supervision. She has published 40 research papers indexed in Scopus, including a research paper in the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

Her research interests include Embedded Systems, Digital Image Processing, and Engineering Education. With her extensive experience in academics, research, curriculum development, and academic leadership, she currently serves as Dean-Academics and Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College, Chennai.
